what do your elf eyes see?

I started working on this scarf in rehearsal this morning. I think I love cables. More than I should, at least.

Yarn so pretty! I'm calling it my (Legolas) Greenleaf Scarf, because the yarn is gloriously green, and I plan on having knitted leaves for fringe. It's going to be awesome.

Umm. US7 needles, Caron Simply Soft yarn in Sage. LOVE IT.

mr. tardo stegs

Okay, so.

I knit this stegosaurus from xtreme knitting. I got bored with the spikes last night, and didn't finish them. I promptly decided that Poor Mr. Stegs looked really retarded, because I sewed the legs on all wonky, and he just looked foolish.

I got home from work today, decided to finish the spikes, and sew them on.

And, with that, Poor Mr. Retarded Stegs became Mr. Tardo Stegs, one of my favorite things EVER.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this pattern. It was a fun and really quick knit. I did the body and two legs in the span of about 4 hours.

YAY. Two more pictures on my Flickr.

FO: [obnoxious] yellow

YAY, A F.O. POST!

I finished my sister's [obnoxious] yellow scarf last night! And, yes, I know it is June, and we live in Texas, but whatever, she can wear it once it gets cool.

She loves it. The end is a little wonky, because I did 1x1 ribbing to make it all look like stockinette, and I did the bind-off knit-wise. In retrospect, I could've done it better, but I was anxious to finish it.

I think I get antsy when things sit on my needles for too long. I think this comes from learning to knit with only one pair of needles so that I could only work on one thing at a time.

I think it's time to knit Something That Is Not A Scarf. I have an afghan pattern I want to do, and I'm going to go work on some Mary Jane slippers now. Yay, stashbusting!

they call me mellow yellow

YAY. First WIP post.

This is a scarf I'm working on for my sister. She said she wanted it to look like stockinette, but not curl. (Of course, she didn't use the word "stockinette," but she saw some stockinette I had done and said she wanted it to look like that.)

I'm doing 1x1 ribbing, so it looks like stockinette, but doesn't curl. I always see people on craftster and stuff saying things like, "Oh, I hate 1x1 ribbing!" and, "It's so tedious!" but I rather enjoy it, because it's just hard enough that it keeps my attention, yet still simple enough that I can do it while watching or doing something else.

This picture is from Monday, I think, and it's longer now. It's not nearly long enough, but it's more than half finished.

introduction

Hallo!

This will be the knitting blog. It's summer, and I plan on knitting a lot. I'm about to start work on an afghan, and I've knitted a few other things that Are Not Scarves.

We'll see how this turns out.
